The AIMS Center recognizes that spaces outside the classroom are equally valuable as dynamic learning experiences. AIMS at Home is dedicated to supporting spaces where children live as environments where collaborative and inclusive STEAM activities can and do occur.
Cultivate communities of trust
Use tangible technology in playful learning
Engage and support parents and caregivers
Harness the power of distribution and previous research
AIMS at Home Take-home Kits are designed to playfully engage children in learning math while being simple enough for parents to use at home.
Each kit includes a booklet with hands-on activities and complementary manipulatives and materials that allow students to gain a sense of meaning and application in relation to the common core curriculum. Materials are selected with the purposeful intent of being simple, inexpensive, and interchangeable to show that learning arises from what children do with the materials–relying on their natural curiosity and creativity–and not necessarily the materials alone.
